Kudos to ACT! With Alex Swney going down for a 5 year stretch, the percentage of their candidates and MP’s who turned out to be criminals remains reassuringly high.
It just goes to show, that the original trading name the left gave ACT, holds true today – as the day they took on the mantle.

For people interested in Aussie politics the ABC has a documentary series on the Rudd Gillard years called the Killing season. I have not watched any of it yet but the website (http://www.abc.net.au/news/programs/killing-season/) is well constructed and the concept is an interesting one.
No doubt my personal perceptions that Rudd was an egotistical psychopathic idiot and Gillard did her best will be confirmed …

Yup! I was reading the comments from the speechwriter and thinking that. In summary, he said that he had no problem writing in the ‘voice’ of Kim Beasley or Julia Gillard, but he just couldn’t do Rudd because there really wasn’t anything behind the smile. Or words to that effect, anyway.

Tony Abbott has watered down provisions somewhat so that Aussies who the Government does not like will not become stateless. But the proposal is that Australian citizens with dual citizenship may lose their Australian citizenship if convicted of certain offences.
