Police recruitment campaign steps up a gear

It was probably well intentioned – and to be fair we don’t know the full facts yet – but on the face of it putting kids in police cars at a school fair then doing donuts and figure eights around the field looks like pretty poor judgement.

On the other hand, I’m just a little bit jealous. When I was at school we certainly never got rides like that from Constable Keith and Sniff .

I cant stand these whingers who complain about the police but want them to turn up immediately when they need them.
maybe the cops were out of line but pushing this barrow is just childish.
give them a break for crissake.
don’t we have have better things to do than this?
    this is tabloid non news.

    It’s a beat up:

    1) They are miles away from anyone
    2) Said story says the guy doesn’t know how to upload videos, yet he’s uploaded tons of them.
    3) The video has been edited and chopped, obviously said person knows what they are doing

And lol, the video now has comments disabled. Can’t take the heat. What an idiot.

I have little problem with this type of activity – it doesn’t look particularly unsafe. As a_y_b says – it would have been better at provoking interest than the rather dreary police visits I had at school. Hopefully it will help improve the level of recruits.

Besides the police have well established procedures and policies for dealing with this type of issue.

If you read the linked article, you’ll see that he didn’t know how to upload from his phone. He might have used a camcorder previously.

Randal, Brett, Infuse, it is simply a case of what were they thinking? One year at my sons primary school gala there were local dirt track cars kindly offering kids rides, roll cages and no helmets-so I gave them a burst too.

As for cops, apart from the raping, assaulting, boozing, dishonest ones I have only one problem with them-the pro boss political role they play as part of the state forces. Cops are great for cleaning up after car crashes and finding lost trampers but keep them away from union pickets and protests I say.

Can someone please tell me when Judith Collins will be putting this hoon’s car through the crusher? I’d love to watch.

Meanwhile here in In Western Australia, the “hoon law” [Road Traffic Amendment (Impounding and Confiscation of Vehicles) Act 2004], has been used to impound a Lamborghini that was being driven by a mechanic without the owner’s knowledge.

The police argued that if the owner has the money to own the car “he can afford to hire a vehicle” during the impound term while the Western Australian Police Minister, Rob Johnston, “admits the laws are unfair but says he stands by them”.

Welcome to the other side of the Looking Glass…
