    Notorious cat burglar strikes again:

    Keith’s crime wave started three years ago, when he began stealing bras from nearby clothes lines and bringing home live eels from the local Heathcote river in Christchurch. But his ambitions have grown.

    According to owners Ginny and David Rumbold, in recent weeks the five-year-old black cat has brought home a bong and a ziploc bag containing unidentified white powder. He also left a pair of knickers on the back fence.

    A particular favourite are the steel-toed boots of a local tradesperson. Despite the man weighing down his shoes with fluorescent green 2.5 kilogram weights, Keith still manages to haul them home unseen – one shoe at a time.

      and huge gratitude to all the medical professionals, Drs, nurses, lab technicians, contract tracers etc, etc and all the essential workers who have sacrificed so much so we are able to have a relatively covid free Christmas

    Donald Trump has become a vaccine advocate and not only has he had a booster shoot but he is promoting the vaccines enthusiastically.

    "Former US President Donald Trump has repeatedly promoted vaccines and boosters to his supporters in recent days, continuing to do so even after being booed for it."

    It really sounds as if The Donald is like Paul on the road to Damascus.

      No!?! The guy behind operation "warpspeed" or whatever it was called, and who's been promoting dodgy injections since day one? That guy? The guy who Kamala Harris and others claimed would be their reason for not getting vaccinated?

      Probably realised that anti-vax isn't a vote winner. We may see a more moderate Trump in 2024. But who knows. Still a long way off.

        Yes, they can do something right. They actually do a huge amount right.

        Unfortunately they are peopled with people, and sometimes people do things that are not quite right.

        Unfortunately those who would have done things right are people like us but we're tied up, noting everything in the country and the world that has not been done right, but would have been done right if we'd been in charge of it.

    Family from New Plymouth have joined me at Pookden Manor in Tawa for Christmas Dinner. We’re skyping rellies in Baltimore now & having a late Christmas Dinner – roast chickens & roast spuds, kumara, parsnips, pumpkin, trifle with strawbs, cake, cider, & all the usual Xmas feast stuff
