      Sounds super A!

And for those sad sods who'll never be able to hold down a job?

None of the WEAG recommended raise in their benefit rate…more of the same on struggle street.

Luckily the EOLC Bill will be a light at the end of the tunnel.

We'll see. Any government that starts talking about getting disabled people into work makes me nervous, simply because for 30 years they've done so punitively and at great cost to vulnerable people. If they were serious about helping disabled people they'd increase their income and fix the abatement rate issue so that part time and intermittent workers aren't taxed at an enormous rate.

        "…makes me nervous."

Me too. Had an attack of deja vu listening to The Minister. Some of her lines were almost direct quotes from a 2011 Herald interview with Bill ' the lizard' English called "Drivers of the Big Cuts"

        (Stupid phone, can't link🙄)

This one rang a big fucking alarm bell,

"Sepuloni says 74 percent of them do want to work."

Any Labour MP using the word 'want' in relationship to the word 'work' is either pig ignorant of bene bashing culture, or doesn't care, or actually believes that bludgers need to be 'motivated'. Until they make amends for Shearer's painter on the roof speech, they're not to be trusted when it comes to disabled people.

The stuff about people with mental health issues reminded me of National. Will look up the English interview (you have a good memory!).

The RNZ piece is a badly written article and I found it hard to know what they were on about. I should listen to the audio to get a better sense of where CS is at, but frankly am sick of giving her the benefit of the doubt.

"…big, hard lump of waste of human potential…"

Because, like, the only measure of a person's worth is their income.

Nothing, absolutey fucking nothing nothing about state support for those who cannot work because of ill health or non ACC disability.

Yet it seems $100000 plus per year to keep a person in prison is money well spent.

The sick and disabled clearly are not perceived as enough of a threat…or something.🙄

Bill English…the Man with the Plan. He was always the real leader….him with the lopsided smirk as he delivered yet another kick-them-while-they're-down Budget.

    So good…

AOC has shown a remarkable ability to extract energizing viral moments from stale bureaucratic meetings. She turns complex political concepts into snappy soundbites and boring old politics into much-talked-about spectacle.

The is exactly what happened on Wednesday during her questioning of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg about his early awareness of the disgraced political consultancy Cambridge Analytica, which harvested millions of Facebook users’ personal information to influence the 2016 US election. The confrontation is uncomfortable to watch, with Ocasio-Cortez grilling Zuckerberg on key details about his knowledge back then – he denies having any – and then ending on the zinger:

“You don’t know? This was the largest data scandal with respect to your company, that had catastrophic impacts on the 2016 election. You don’t know?”

She is met with a squirming Zuckerberg and therein, a viral moment is made.

On the bright side, there are massive planting projects across Africa with Ethiopia alone achieving a record of over 350 million seedlings in 12 hours, another reason the PM deserved a Nobel award. Unfortunately, Brazil is likely to continue on its destructive course until Bolsonaro is forcibly from power. That will be problematic as he seems to be a CIA plant who has the patronage of Trump.
