      I lasted about a minute. Might be a style thing. Meanwhile, here's the actual The Witch Trials of JK Rowling podcast.

      Megan Phelps-Roper, who was raised in the uber fundamentalist Westboro Baptist Church and left in her early 20s, interviews a range of people, including JKR herself, about the Harry Potter books, their burning by the religious right and later by TRAs, and what happened when JKR entered the sex/gender wars. It's very good, giving an overview of the issues, the history, the influence of social media, and JKR herself.

          Try from chapter 7, if you cannot handle a comparison between the days of Anita Bryant and today – Dworkin on the right wing.

          I don't know what any of that means 🤷‍♀️

      Compared to some of the vile crap circulating on rural social media over the last three years, those two example are well toward the moderate end. A lot of it was beyond vile.

      But a large proportion of the rural community built a very strong community out f sharing the shit, and if someone didn't share it around they weren't part of the community. It's going to take a bit to walk this back in rural areas and candidates will reflect their community.

    Looks like I primed the pump on OM today. When I was young I found anything theology utterly boring & stuffy. How times have changed!
