Leader’s Speech – Live Stream

The most united, upbeat Labour Party conference in decades comes to a conclusion with a speech from Jacinda Ardern. The Otago Daily Times is suggesting that it will include an announcement on wellness and health in schools.

The upper level of the Dunedin Town Hall has been opened up for public attendance. This is significant step; it shows just how confident the Labour Party is in Jacinda Ardern’s popularity. I can’t recall any other conference, of any party, where the showpiece speech has been opened up to the public.

Doors open at 1PM, the speech is due to start at 1.30.

The live feed seems to have stopped.

From the written transcript: Only one solitary mention of the two words “climate change”. (followed by an aside that she had already talked about this).

Surely the Prime Minister could have expanded on this, just a little.

When it comes to climate change, Is New Zealand a fast follower, or a world leader?

Doe the Prime Minister still think that climate change is the nuclear free moment of my generation?

What will it take before our country’s leaders start taking this issue seriously?

A massive loss of life and property for us, or our nearest neighbors?

      I hope not.
