Earth is Flat, Pigs can Fly, There is no housing Crisis, The Panama Papers are a damp Squib…

Tonight on Checkpoint one of the most corrupt Brazilian politicians has joined this morning’s corrupt Kazakh politician with Panama Papers and NZ trust/company links.

Suddenly Key is quoted as seeing some urgency to do something about money laundering legislation.

      As have we.
Neo-liberalism told the lie that there is no thing as society and a bunch of fools and scoundrels propagated that message.
More fool many New Zealanders for believing such n evil philosophy.

    ‘PM called ‘dictatorial’ on housing

Prime Minister John Key has been accused of “dictatorial” behaviour over his threats to overrule the Auckland Council if it does not agree to free up more land for housing.
New Zealand First leader Winston Peters said Mr Key was “bullying” the council by discussing the prospect of commissioners for the city.
“That’s dictatorial. It’s arrogant,” Mr Peters said in a speech at the University of Auckland today.’

Great to see someone calling out the PM.
Our Dear Leader is a dictator.

So the PM wants to see land freed up for housing but lefty Len and his hopeless mob say no. No wonder house prices are where they are. Supply and demand dictate prices.
I do agree that foreign buyers should only be able to build new houses and be kept out of the existing market. But in saying that look at Sydney and Melbourne, that’s the rules there and prices are sky high. They also have capital gains tax and stamp duty.
Not many people want to live in apartments. If section sizes were around 350sqm that would make a massive difference.
I pictured The Great Hellen in the above clip because it looks like Labour can’t survive without Her.

You do realise that there’s enough land freed up to cover 6 years of growth don’t you?

In other words, there’s enough land available but the houses aren’t being built. And that probably has more to do with selfish, greedy land bankers than anything else.

Here’s a point that you seem to be missing. As long as there’s a free-for all on foreign ownership then there’s never going to be enough housing available. There’s more rich foreigners wanting in on the sky-rocketing housing bubble than there are NZers.

We need a complete ban on foreign ownership. It’s obviously doing us harm rather than the good we were promised.

Very good and extremely disturbing. Do you know what’s the connection with shipping coal? Are the reefs in the way?
