    It can be done, occasionally.

A strong-left 28-year old latina Democrat candidate rolls a dead-set Dem rock, gets a waterslide into a Congress seat.

“This is not an end, this is the beginning. This is the beginning because the message that we sent the world tonight is that it’s not OK to put donors before your community,” Ocasio-Cortez told her supporters Tuesday night.

Now listen to investigative journalist, Paula Penfold on The Panel this afternoon:

    https://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/thepanel/audio/2018651165/panel-says

Paula starts @ 04:40 mins in.

Anyone who has read “Hit and Run” and is taking an interest in this saga will find these back to back discussions very interesting.

Penfold was amazing, calling him a coward, jeepers Mora seemed stunned after that – hope Keating was too.

      1. 2.1.1

        …Mora seemed stunned after that…

As well he should too. It’s not very often that someone on his show is so refreshingly honest and frank about a controversial issue such as this one. Normally they act in a “cowardly” manner and skirt around issues because they don’t want to upset the Establishment.

    2. 2.2

Paula Penfold was pretty brutal. Interesting that so many ex-military types claim Keating won’t be missed. He obviously spent his tenure there winning hearts and minds.

How cynical and dishonest is the National Party?

In Question Time on Thursday, Parker was asked by National MP Amy Adams if the purpose of the Overseas Investment Amendment Bill was to exempt developments like Te Arai

Because they’re really really incompetent at it…

After days of being on the backfoot, the Government has revealed it was [Doctor] Sir John [Phillip] Key who was lobbying for an exemption for a billionaire’s property development in Northland.

The investors will be hoping that Key stains wash out.

    1. 3.1

Its almost as if National are debriefing themselves on their miserable, neglectful and culpable tenure in govt. The oppositions questions in the house are virtually self examination and then they just keep backing themselves into a corner and shooting holes in their own feet.

      1. 3.2.1

        Reading comprehension fail………. again!

“the Government has revealed it was [Doctor] Sir John [Phillip] Key who was lobbying for an exemption for a billionaire’s property development in Northland”

        Simple huh?

still waiting for the indignant outrage at the 30,000 immigrant builders policy announced today
    stealing our jobs…..
    stealing our homes…….
    stealing our medical care……..
    etc etc
what has changed OAB, Ed, Adam?????

    1. 5.1

When did I claim that immigrants “steal our jobs”? The supply of workers increases, the demand for workers increases.

Let me know when you figure it out.

        1. 5.1.1.1

Why would I need to rethink it? Immigration increases both supply and demand and therefore has a neutral effect upon wages.

      1. 5.2.1

Just another Tory turd, new and shiny, but like them all, will fade in time…

Be nice to see a link to content/context rather than mutterings of a half truth or the classic Tory wamble, coulda/woulda/shoulda.

Disappointed to see the 10.5 cent tax on petrol. While taxing fossil fuels is generally positive, this is a regressive tax, when we desperately need to be addressing inequality.

For John Key and his fellow super rich, this will be 0.00001% of their wealth and income – for low income earners, this will be significant relative to their wealth and income.

Labour means well, but seems clueless when it comes to addressing the important structural problems in NZ – very TINA.
