   Anyway, it turns out that in order to get tax exempt charity status you need to be very specific. You can’t just start raising money for AIDS, Haiti, etc etc when your stated purpose was to fund presidential campaign.

            NRT has a good take on this policy announcement:

            The really amusing bit is the long-term. Their policy includes the line that by 2025, “we will have developed a breakthrough science solution capable of removing at least one small mammal predator from the mainland entirely”

            Leaving aside the questions of whether they’re promising biological warfare on rats and stoats, to introduce a new predator to eat them (because we know how well that worked out in the past), or just to build a better mousetrap, this isn’t policy so much as wishful thinking. Its the policy equivalent of “I will win the lottery”, or maybe “Baby Jesus will ride in on a sparkly unicorn, wave his magic wand, and make this problem disappear”. In other words, not real. If this is their policy, then it is simply not going to happen.

   Are facts even important anymore?

   Trump’s campaign may be most despised for the; “racial hate he stirred up in the bloodpot of human hearts”. But the worst thing may prove to be his utter disregard for external reality. I could say a lot against Clinton, but at worst it comes down to; she is evil. Trump on the other hand seems literally insane, and it is now infecting the entire Republican establishment.

   The relevant portion of this clip is the 6 minutes following the 3:17 timepoint. But the whole is worth watching (but then so is the rest of the show too):
