He’s brilliant – rapidly remaking the Gnatz public image from thieving scoundrels who can’t be trusted with power under any circumstances, to a pack of hopeless buffoons who, given a generational change and short delivery on expectations by the coalition, will be credible contenders in a couple of decades.

“As their closest neighbor and oldest friend, this is something we should be speaking out against, not keeping silent on. And if they don’t like that, then fuck Australia.”

Not so different from another Ministers’ view …

“NZ’s decision in no way condones the views expressed by the pair, which are repugnant to this Government and run counter to the kind and tolerant values of the vast majority of New Zealanders.”

    Totally Agree!

99 blacked out pages, couriered. Brilliant use of taxpayer money to say ‘I’m a smartarse’. Well done Jawsie’s Boys.

Shredding NZ as they go, tell there is nothing left to incriminate them. Good one. I always thought it should be called MoBIE, as in the story of the hunt for a doomed whale that was wanted no doubt for killing and use as resource.

Ninety nine blacked out pages, printed out on the taxpayer dollar and couriered from Wellington to Auckland?

    WTFF?

Whoever did this should be named, shamed and fired.

And the Minister responsible for MBIE held to account and hauled over the coals.

    And fired.

So much for greater transparency and more open government.

Becoming a joke….a very bad joke.

I’ve made a few OIA requests over the past year or so. Surprisingly, the first couple yielded more information than I expected. The last one..I actually phoned the person who was handling my request and gave them the opportunity to rethink the official response before I put my response to their response in writing. Bald faced obfuscation was strenuously defended by one of the Mucky Mucks up at the top. Basically telling me that they can make their own rules regardless of what the legislation states and I can go and get lost.

The response Zac Flemming got goes way beyond that. It is totally contemptuous and redefines arrogance. Giving a double single-digit salute to the state broadcaster.

If there is not a shit storm over this…

Or, a primed MP could ask the Minister a Question to which the answer would be ‘ I’m going to find out and name the fuckwit responsible.’

Surely David Parker would welcome the chance to demonstrate his commitment to open government (and not being a smartarse).
