I know what I thought after Roughan had turned his bias a back a notch in recent months most of the time, I think it was an immediate and inherent reaction to Willie Jackson being a part of this. There is a wider range of "personality politics" where the "messenger" is incapable of keeping their personal bias' to themselves.

Newshub online is probably not a reliable indicator of popular opinion across the country.
Mind you, given the way the NZRFU allowed themselves to be appropriated by the National Party during the Key years a half-pissed rugby crowd, dissing a Labour PM, wouldn’t be much of a surprise.

      1. 2.4.1

several of us were there and saw it – but muttonbirdbrain wouldn’t believe it until it was in the media.

But 50000 people gives a reasonable cross section of kiwis.

        1. 2.4.1.2

Sure 50k might give you a bit of a cross section of NZers. It seems, though that far less than that had the bad manners to voice a complaint at the PM at Eden Park.

        2. 2.4.1.3

To be fair, I take whatever you say with a grain of salt, too.
The cheers were louder than the boos, anyway. Unlike when dunnokeyo went to the rugby. Or Ratana. Or the BGO…

        3. 2.4.1.4

"several of us were there and saw it…"

Yes every right winger and his dog were there at Eden Park apparently, waiting around for the cup presentation… lol

        4. 2.4.1.5

Rugby fans boo Labour PM. Incredible (sarc).

I remember when Anton Oliver was an AB. When the press polled the team the result was that only he and one other AB said they would vote Labour/Green while the rest of the squad said they would vote for the Nats.

And before that there were the apartheid-supporting Springbok tour crowds…..

Lol. Of course it must be sexism- I laugh how you can’t get it past your head that people are starting to wake up to her.

            1. 2.5.1.2.1.1

James, you said "I laugh how you can’t get it past your head that people are starting to wake up to her.", which made me think you had some ideas on what the booing was about. I mean, you wouldn't just be using this an opportunity to score political points would you?

        1. 2.5.1.3

Has there ever been a partisan rugby crowd welcome an officiating politician?

She's just a person James…Jesus would get booed.

Sorry, most of us still dig Jacinda.

        Old snub:

Dated 20/12/2018 https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=12180474 Former New Zealand Rugby boss David Moffett calls Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern a 'traitor'

Moffett is a member of the NewConservative party and a tweet from his account in response to a news story – headlined: 'Peters blames 'alt-right' for UN migration pact criticism' – stated that he was "coming to get" the Prime Minister and her deputy….

He tweeted? – "Have a good break coz you're going to need it. Next year will likely be your Annus Horibilis because we are coming to get you."…

Moffett is an Australian who took over as New Zealand Rugby boss in 1996 as the sport moved officially into the pay-for-play era…

He quit as chief executive at the end of 2000 and was replaced by David Rutherford…

(Should we deport this Australian back home as if he is offending our society and provoking dissent in our political processes?)

“On warm and damp sites, radiata stands could be a nurse crop for native forest. As long as seed sources were available, the carbon dioxide reservoirs would ultimately change to become native forest, Mason said.”

    Yes! And yes again!

“At the third day of the environment committee's Christchurch hearings into the Climate Change Amendment (Zero Carbon) Bill, University of Canterbury forestry professor Euan Mason said the case for using exotic trees, such as pines and eucalypts, to capture carbon dioxide was compelling.“

    Now we are talking!

    1. 3.1

(I have read that we should not be thinking of eucalypts as they are too fire-prone, we need less resinous things. Pines are bad enough.)

      1. 3.1.1

        Fire prone or Fire resistant?

Lots of places in the world are fire prone and have the forests which go with it, like Southern France which has types of Oak
