It’s good Parata and Key are joining Parmar on the campaign trail. It worked so well in Northland, didn’t it?

Kids might get excited but their parents don’t like seeing secret service goons invade their children’s schools.

I’m also mindful of Parmar’s distress that Phil Goff might be lending his endorsement to the Wood campaign. I bet it costs the taxpayer a lot more to get Parata and Key to traipse around after you for a day.

The look of the label/bottle has a significant influence on kiwis’ wine-purchasing decisions.

On that basis, I don’t see PHPN flying off the shelves. Just his face and signature on a bottle – eeeuch – spit take imminent.

The Guardian with better quake coverage than any NZ paper.

We haven’t really started getting any help till today. It has been very frustrating watching all the reporters flying around taking pictures from the sky but not landing to help us or see if we are OK.

I’d be interested to hear from AD on Waiau’s predicament with respect to the government’s supposedly wonderful disaster response. Perhaps they are deliberately extending the rescue effort in order to “push out the positive effect the [rescue effort] has.”

Agree. Airlift capability was what was needed but the Chinese Embassy made our own government look silly on that one by commandeering all the private operators.

The RNZAF couldn’t lift a sausage from a John Key barbecue.

AD was impressed by the Navy response though, as were many other simple New Zealanders.

Ah no, MB. There are shitloads more choppers about than the Chinese rented.
On a big frost night in Marlborough there can be 50 or more in the air.
What there isn’t is the political will to spend the money to do the job properly.
          The Chinese have that will.
P.s , some family members rented some and got rellies out by lunch time.
