why sell your house if the money you get is not enough to buy a new house.

so unless you already have another house to live in it pays to keep what you have.

And the LA Times/USC national tracking poll has now moved to +5 Trump.

The Democratic establishment and the liberal left knew that Bernie was clearly the stronger candidate against Trump.

But the establishmnt fools picked Killary anyway.

Yea it’s a tough one. I don’t believe Trump is capable of being ‘reigned in’. It’s just not in his DNA. Perhaps that’s part of his appeal?

So do I Marty. We have three pet hens. I don’t eat chicken because they are treated so dreadfully by the farming industry and Hens are such amazing birds all with their own personalities, likes and dislikes.

We were given so free range eggs recently and I was surprised that they looked and tasted pleasantly different. I poached them and they were shiny and tasty. And I the sceptic had thought we wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

I can’t eat eggs that aren’t free range any more and checked free range or local which is even better, because there are some big liars out there.

I am also really enjoying my raw milk especially cos we use glass bottles. That is so much better for everything using less plastic or cardboard. I do recommend and the taste is fantastic!

          Me too!
We don’t have our own hens anymore, so we now buy from the weekly market here (which by the way must be one of the best anywhere). You get to know the people who grow your produce and care for the hens who lay your eggs. I can’t imagine a better way.
I never buy bread for the supermarket now and have tried baking my own but never had much success. Now there are two local suppliers, perhaps the best bread I have ever tasted baked locally, (not filled with air liked the supermarket produced fluff) and a very good bread stall at the market which does a variety of different breads.

Why not buy a bread maker?

It makes bread easily and cheaply and you have control over the ingredients that it uses.

Really, this seems like one of your really stupid kneejerk reactions to modern technology.

I’ve been looking for a good sourdough recipe. Can’t find one anywhere. Been experimenting but haven’t got good results yet.

Still, my wholemeal bread is to die for.

                400g plain flour
                200g wholemeal flour
                240ml water
                120ml soy milk
                2 teaspoons salt
                2 teaspoons breadmaker yeast
                ~tablespoon butter

Throw it in the breadmaker and 3:55 hours later get a perfect loaf. Admittedly, the breadmaker I have (Breville Gourmet Baker) is the only one I know of that can handle 600g of flour.

                To make it by hand:

Mix all the dry ingredients together then mix in the water/soy milk. Throw it on a large heavy breadboard lightly covered with flour and kneed until smooth. Place in a bowl or other container and allow to rise for an hour, hour and a half. Kneed again. Allow to rise for another hour and then place it in the oven at 150c for an hour.

You can’t trust commercial free range eggs. The hens only have to be ‘let out’ for 2 hours per day (and don’t conjure up pleasant green pasture – it is probably just a dirt yard). They are fed the same crap and antibiotics as the others and their yolks are artificially coloured. If you don’t have a reliable source of free range eggs then the only sensible option at the supermarket is the organic eggs. You will note how their yolks are natural yellow and not radiant gold. I hope that helps.

While we are on the subject of safe food I would also warn people off chicken and pork and salmon and prawns and shrimps ….. all pen raised on chemically contaminated food and antibiotics. Beef is not squeaky clean either – too many contaminants in it by the time the animal is slaughtered.
What do we eat you may ask. Organic chicken, lamb, organic eggs, selected fish(low on food chain) and ,of course , vegetarian.
            Live according to the maxims….
            1) We are what we eat.
            2) let medicine be your food and food be your medicine ( Hippocrates).

The chickens have no concept of going out in the sun for exercise. Most of them just crowd around each other in the feeding shed indoors, even if they have the ability to roam about outdoors. They simply do not because that’s not where the food is.
