not confused at all , feminism is a subset of sexism which like racism is a form of prejudice. I was brought up to reject prejudice and rather to treat each person on how they interact with me

you can’t just asign words any old meaning you like. Well, you can, but then you don’t make any sense.

Don’t have to take my word for it, just look it up in a dictionary.

              here you go,

the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.

But I guess the dictionary is wrong 🙄

Maybe, because a lot of feminists seem to be [r0b: Deleted, and take a week off] the last thing any one wants, is be associated with them.

Damn that is good. Waring’s sense of history is a taonga. Her ability to contextualise the politics of being female is outstanding.

In 1975 less than 5% of all apprentices in the private sector were women, and the overwhelming portion of those were hairdressers. In 2010, the latest statistics I could find, modern apprenticeships were totally dominated by Pakeha males. It’s not surprising as every time I hear a Government Minister speak of the Canterbury rebuild it is the ‘young men’ who will find work there. Some of the same people who think it is a problem to force women into veils find easier ways to make women invisible; last week every pronoun used by the Prime Minister in terms of the New Zealanders he wishes to send to Iraq was male.

This meme is based on the belief that there is one feminism. Not so. The are pro censorship and anti censorship feminists. Also the are Radical Separatist feminists and those who are quite comfortable engaging with males politically or otherwise.

So I can support the ideas and aspirations of certain types of feminism, I can’t agree it all fits in one bag. Any more than Christianity, Judaism, Communism etc
