Well thank God our dozen MUG corporate overlords deigned to shuffle electricity use to enable 5 million people to have lights and heating.

I'll bet 16 chocolate fish that once we pay out for canceling the ordered ferries fuck around paying consultants nursing shit ferries then actually do something well be out of pocket buy more than 3 billion, or national will sell it to some vultures and labour will be forced to buy it back at a future date once the vultets scavenge it and take flight.

The commercial vandalism being inflicted Kiwi Rail through their InterIslander subsidiary is really stretching the duck test.

The consequences to the country of turning Cook Strait into a profit generating playground doesn't bear thinking about. FFS are they going to toll or privatise SH 1 next. Waiting for the report that says Waka Kotahi aren't 'suitable' to run the State Highway network and Spaghetti Junction should be sold to another operator. Same thing.

While Straits Shipping are the immediate beneficiaries, there could be another party in play wanting to pick up the InterIslander operations then justify a return on investment.

As for Willis and Jones, one of our loyal opposition should put an anti-corruption bill in the biscuit tin with Proceeds of Crime like provisions triggered by quite minor infractions, like advocating on behalf of a donor.

Wonder how many labour-relations laws will be rewritten this time.

Yes that was a shameful episode inspired by a group of people who are totally shame resistant.
