Vote delayed and he promised to forgive all his loans to the party …

Get the feeling he is trying to negotiate a way to hang on?

A bit of confusion in the media. RNZ says he’s resigned, Stuff’s headline says that too, but the actual story says ‘offers to resign”. The Herald also says “offers to resign”.

Hopefully it’ll be Garth McVicious who replaces him. He should be able to keep them sucking 3 or 4% off National’s vote. But, but … Maurice Williamson, anyone?

I’m with Puckish Rogue, williamson might be tilting at Mayoralty.

McVicar’s myth fuelled “we’re all in danger – we’re going to be murdered in our beds” could dent ACT… and Nationali

Maybe Tamaki or Lewis doing a christian coalition?

Or maybe KDC is their new funder leader, having found jesus?

The above suggestions show well enough that very few people in NZ have the faintest idea what a Conservative stands for.

Such a narrow political spectrum its ridiculous. I guess that’s what happens on small islands.

Conservative stands for upending and revolutionising the social and economic order of the nation. In other words, everything that isn’t “Conservative”.

Boo hoo, no true Scotsman, sob sob.

A true Conservative believes whatever Dear Leader tells them to: that’s the actual behaviour, despite Bedwetter’s querulous protests.

Why is it even an issue here. The CP are not even in the House. Christine Rankin will make a great leader, her or McVicor. Common sense and true blue values!! Don’t you see the cesspit NZ now is??

    1. 6.1

Yes, we do see the cesspit that NZ has become under the policies and leadership types that you favour.

    2. 6.2

I would hardly call a place where people enjoy the freedom to express themselves sexually a ‘cesspit’. Quite the opposite.

But if Rankin and McVicar had their way, homosexuals would be locked up, and single mothers publicly shamed.

      Among other things.

Just musing here, but I have a terrible feeling that it wasn’t the sauna interview itself that was the issue. Could it be that being in a sauna with a gay man was the real problem?

    1. 7.1

I’ve been assuming it’s a discomfit with two men together thing (rather than the Crazy Colin thing). Probably doesn’t even matter if the other man was gay or not, I’m sure it looked way too homoerotic for the CP.

    Who was this person?

Surely whoever it was will now have more time to spend with his money, family, God, and so on. We should all be very happy for him.

And they can hardly find anyone more fatuous??? Oh wait, what was that bizarre blonde’s name again?

Stringer seems to have been fronting the media for the formerly CCCP – hard to imagine anyone with less credibility, but I’m sure the conservatives will find someone.

I’m not too keen on Craig’s end of the political spectrum, but the moonlandings/chemtrails were pretty much a beat up – nothing really to do with him or his party – just a natural prudence about swearing to things he never saw.

Craig spent mostly his own money trying to get elected – which makes him about 1000 times less corrupt than the Gnats – why Key didn’t support him I guess.

Banks might be the next one in – cleaner than Key, no troublesome ambitions or principles, and will stay bought (if bought by the Gnats).
