Te Tahua a te iwi whānui kua tārehu | The Peoples’ Budget Lock-Up 2026 The Peoples’ Budget Lock-Up 2026 brings together unions, iwi, students, community organisations, advocates, and workers to collectively respond to Budget 2026 and help shape a people-centred alternative. LIVE at 5,30 we will hear from
- Sandra Grey (NZCTU Te Kauae Kaimahi)
- Na Raihania (iwi chairs) one impact on Māori.
- Charlotte Lawrence (VUWSA) one impact on young people
- Caroline Mareko (Komiti Pacifica) one impact on Pacifica
- Nick Ruane (advocate) one impact on people with disabilities
- Genevieve Toop (Greenpeace) one impact on people and planet
- Jack Foster (NZCTU TE Kauae Kaimahi) to close – an overall score for the budget – in particular on workers, their families and communities.
At 9pm BHN will talk first with Chris Hipkins, then later with Ricardo Menendez.
