To help better sell the policy, the Greens needed to produce a certified financial savings estimate.

Further, the Greens should have hired a big-wig from the sector to act as their lead consultant.

Bringing a prominent sector expert or industry big-wig onto the team to help co-present a policy is a highly effective strategy for political parties.

It instantly builds credibility and counteracts criticism that the policy is unworkable or purely ideological.

I wrote the other day about mandatory testosterone testing in the US for male defense personnel.

Women get to be tested too.

‘For women, the guidance…calls for screening for fatigue and disrupted menstrual cycles that can be associated with hormonal dysregulation and conditions called low-energy availability and relative energy deficiency in sport…[with] guidelines for when it is appropriate to prescribe off-label testosterone in women, namely for postmenopausal women with unusually low sexual desire.’

‘Doctors…[say] there is little evidence that universal screening for low testosterone among military personnel would improve U.S. combat readiness.’
