A little bit of last-minute inconvenience before the election and another three years of the three monkeys.

Mainstream New Zealand has always found it easy to believe in its own decency. We are, we tell ourselves, a fair-minded people. We signed a treaty. We have a good country. And yet we have spent most of our history making that belief comfortable by not looking too hard at the evidence. Césaire [Martinican poet, theorist, and politician] would have recognised the habit.

Now we have a government that is making it harder not to look.

Thanks for that sobering read – the poisonous nACTf Coalition of Gangrene seems to have a thing about Gangs and Greens.

“The gaps in health, housing, income, and incarceration that Māori face are the accumulated interest on a history of dispossession” is such a stark truism that we all by some measure ignore. Thank you Adreanne for describing the spreading gangrene.

"Gangrene" – that's really good, DMK.

Sadly, that rot, evident in the body-Right, doesn't stop until it's completely eradicated.

        Let's do it 🙂
