Sam Neil and his excellent doco “Uncharted” is a must watch. That Heather Duplicity woman earned his wrath though and I have to agree with him that her calling the Pacific Islands “leeches” was definitely the height of stupidity.

Just what the general malaise is with the fourth estate at the moment is open to speculation, but its getting dire. Maybe it needs a “reset”.

Woopsee it seems those Kiwibuild / Kiwibuy apartments did not meet bank lending criteria as they were under 40 m3.

Twyford is not worried though, the developer waved his magic wand and they now meet the criteria!

So the question is how do you arrive at additional m3 once the apartment has already been built?

        Fucking google!

I couldn’t quite bring to mind what an oriel is, so did ye olde google search – that threw me a whole pile of crap on the Baltimore Orioles because, well obviously I’m a big fucking – baseball (had to check that) fan.

In my head, I can imagine an annoying, American accented and female google computer voice enquiring –

“Would you like us to search for what you actually entered into the search function? Are you sure? Wouldn’t you rather know everything there is to know about ….fcking shit you’ve no interest in?”

Regrading homeless on TV 1 news a spokesman from Finland/Sweden ?? Mentioned that they achieved a reduction in numbers by increasing permanent housing.
The last govt demolished HNZ stock and sold to private developers. Labour plan is to demo: selling to developers, Kiwibuild and replacing the no. of HNZ demolished dwellings with new ones.

        Mt Roskill South (overall)
        • 260 old state houses will make way for around 900 new homes
        • Made up of 302 new State homes and around 578 market and affordable over the next 5-6 years
        • Developable area 17ha
What is wrong with this govt ? Where is the vision to INCREASE HNZ stock ? Again to me Labour is about selling state land to developers for their personal gain, discount Kiwi build, and at the same time reducing HNZ potential to increase their stock.
Be bold and let HNZ build.

What’s wrong is that the government has no builders until the government moves beyond being nothing more than a client, they’ll achieve fuck all.

This sort of transition has to happen under a Labour government, annoyingly it won’t happen under National for ideological reasons.

That should be Twyfords number one goal, we need tradespeople as public servants.

Agreed, that has to be a major part of the solution.

      Built?
Did you not see the story yesterday about the site being cleared before building.
These were studion size apartments in a mixed size block.
It was something like 0.5m2 short so just a mistake in draughting plans
Th kiwibuild houses completed are 3 bedroom terrace style so much bigger

    Jonathan Pie.
    Brilliant.

    We live in a plutocracy.
And we prop this up by being unthinking consumers.
    We are complicit.

    Sheeple….

A great toss team I think you mean.

Gotta say this fear from you rwnj’s is funny – keep it up lads – it’s wood for the fire and we are a burning!!!

Yup. They are losing it big time. You can’t say ‘fuck this, fuck that’ in your Twitter feed and expect to be taken seriously as a political journalist.

Also, OIA’s actually get done under this government, unlike the last.

Silly question, but isn’t putting a link to someone with a life ban from this site, at best a trollish provocation, or at worst – some serious macho posturing verging on deep ideological paraphilia?
