Mathew Hooton is advocating for Labour supporters voting in an Opportunities MP in Mount Albert. Saying that "TOP" would support a Labour government and it was the only way Labour could win the election.
Being assisted into parliament in such a way and then installing a Labour government would end any credibility that it was a centre party. And also that of its leader when she has clearly posited the party as having a function that was not right or left partisan.
Gareth Morgan has advised them to sit on the side benches when they get into parliament for that reason.
If Labour wanted to win in such a way it would not stand candidates in Maori seats (and NACT/NZF would later end the seats).

Hooton knows this is be a misrepresentation.
Wong would have to campaign on installing a Labour government and thus be partisan in the campaign, or otherwise she would be lying to TOP voters.
And if this happens and Wong follows the advice of Gareth Morgan, will Hooton say well played, you go girl.
Matthew Hooton is stage 4 cancer infecting NZ politics, just ask Todd Muller and associates because it's possible they may have pulled the coup on Bridges at Hooton's insistence.
I don't know how a political activist and party operative could be considered for the editor of a newspaper in NZ but here we are.
The example above shows Hooton is a seriously untrustworthy individual and he's RW to the core so any suggestions from him are by definition an attempt to influence the election for the benefit of the National Party.
The simplest and most obvious explanation is usually correct.
Once again, how Stuff/The Post could entertain this partisan charlatan as a serious political editor is beyond me.
We voters are not served well by our c-grade politicians and media.

The multiple out-of-control unjustified deaths by ICE are, according to Jen Welch at IHIP News, designed to normalise these events with the American public. Then ICE deployments organised by Trump at polling places for the November House and Senate elections could drive away voters fearful of what appears to be Trump's personal militia. Welch claims these will be last-chance elections for US democracy.

This came up on google news and sounded interesting. It was a local matter under the Marlborough Express I think, obviously bought out and under The Press banner. I wanted to take two paras to give some info for here but couldn't highlight it. And only two paras are shown on screen. So into the future with limits on info that exist for years, not just one today' or yesterday's news. People would like to have access to their own news through some reasonable channel.
I have read about patterers from Dickens time, they turned the news into perhaps a running beat poem, and people gathered in the street to hear the latest. Ultimately this news freeze could bring us all together!
