Socialism is very strong in some of the very richest, who believe that all rich
should pay less tax, very egalitarian, for the ‘good’ of society’. The more
individualistic like Buffet believe that he can still make money against
anyone and he thinks the competition for ‘rich’ status have left a lot
of softies who want a tax cut bailout for their failure as capitalists.

Can’t help the name of the author being involved in politics. On Sunday at 7.30 on TV 1 there is going to be something on about Paul Holmes new book due out next Monday on Erebus and exonerating Collins the flight captain of the ill fated flight which claimed 257 lives.

I’m off to Christchurch. Right on the anniversary of the first Big One. Let’s hope this morning’s 4.9 was the last gasp….

Three more raised garden beds to be built in preparation for tomatoes; windows to be washed; and a movie somewhere! Another lovely sunny weekend.

Off to the movies after a hard day writing multipart/mixed logic in an embedded web server. Nicking fries from Lyn in Gold class waiting for Hanna. And damnit, forgot the pad. I may have to something truly decadent. Go and buy a book on parapyus. Nope wrong millenium – paper ( similar obsolete tech )

Hate to be doing this, for a number of reasons, but here goes ..

Not quite the same as going into a real bookshop with real physical books to take off the shelves, thumb through, and walk down the aisles either in the hand or under the arm …

          But there is
          http://www.bookdepository.co.uk

With the exchange rate favourable to us, no GST and the discounts offered there, it can be much cheaper than buying from a bookshop in NZ.

For those about to do a whole load of purchasing, remember that anything NZD 400.00 or more and you pay GST to the NZ Post Office before they deliver it to you. Someone else can correct me if I am wrong here.

Well a busy weekend for my wife and me. Saturday Fims at the Lido Hamiton Italian Festival film Passione .Not what I thought. Not bad but not the Neapolitian music I was expecting. Really the best part for me was at the end when they showed Caruso singing E’Vucchela .
Sunday morning LEC meeting with candidate Frances Campbell. Home in time to hear Gilbert and Sullivan on the Concert progamme .Rufus Rogers meeting Monday morning then a weekm of gardening ,if the back holds out!
