Garden clean up time, long weekend to do some work. The bean vines need to come out and this is the right month to get the horse shit onto the spring potato beds, give it time to rot more before the spuds go in . Also the time to prune the plum trees and apply a big layer of mulch to feed them. Same applies to the berry fruit beds, wood chips to be located from where ever the council has crunched up a tree or two. Next move to let the chickens dig the whole lot over and into the soil, beautiful girls.Bliss.
My little garden has been very low cropping this year and now even my faithful mandarins have failed. Last year I could not eat enough to keep them at bay and neighbours benefited. This year there are just 3 small fruit. Woe is me!
Off to see the Crusaders v Highlanders match over in Addington. Perfect rugby weather coolish and calm.
Was a good night if you’re a Cantabrian…. I’m happily watching the Chiefs with interest.
