Trevett on Key the clown

Claire Trevett describes an exchange in Parliament on Tuesday (love the “achievements”). The video is below – relevant section starts about 7:30 minutes. Judge for yourself.

PM gets the giggles over dope as Act MPs go up in smoke

… Accused by Mr Cunliffe of gloating about the Rugby World Cup and big dairy payouts while staying quiet on his Government’s economic record, Mr Key set out to prove he was not simply capitalising on the cup.

He reeled off a list of National’s “achievements” ending after a short time with “and by the way, we are on track to win the Rugby World Cup”.

His MPs – and the students in the public gallery – went wild but Labour’s Maryan Street was less impressed. She had undertaken some covert surveillance of her own and discovered the Prime Minister was, in fact, a clown.

In apparent disgust at the lack of gravitas, she could no longer hold back.

“You’re the Prime Minister,” she told him, voice dripping with scorn.

“Not a performing seal or a circus clown. You’re the Prime Minister. What a clown!”

Just have a look at the comments on that. On the first page, there’s only 1 lame negative one (that is nicely rebutted) and most of them have 100+ likes.

    There’s still some hope.

Marrian is going nuts at about 9:16 (about one full minute after Key stops talking – and during Boscowan).

Sounds like a case of hysterical Key Derangement Syndrome.

Can I brag here – mine has most likes!!!

Key is more than a circus clown; he is a B list celebrity who is only happy hogging the limelight. His list of achievements? A part built cycle track, increased GST, more people moving to Australia, declining public services, stigmatising certain groups, embarrassing the country on a regular basis (the Norway massacre, Pike River, etc).

Shame people can’t see beyond the phoney smile.

Spot the surge of RWNJs on that site since this post was displayed. None of the rightwing comments showed anything other than tripe. The one by Doreen Poh blamed everything on Labour yet the subjects she chose like leaky homes, Pike River disaster, etc were all NAct bad policy. That was priceless. She was quickly reminded of that.

LPrent and other Standard commenters – your site is becoming more and more popular with the rightwing. Maybe you can organise a few more blog posts about how to get the country right again under a Labour-led government. The rightwing obviously don’t have any worthwhile ideas of their own, so they’re on here to steal yours.

Maybe we should keep quiet, although that would risk the country being shafted and another nine years to get it fixed.

On a side note, again a post bereft of RWNJ comment – truth hurts.
