          Sure Micky Cheers

Actually I’m a little shocked at just how long it turned out to be

You don’t fully realise until you post it

Apologies to Standardistas for taking up so much space

Almost Penny Bright-like in its proportions

[It was good. Send me a message next time you are so energised and I will put it up as a guest post – MS]

Swordfish, so many really appreciate the time and effort you put into analysis and posting facts and stats.

Thanks for this info, much appreciated.

Agree Cinny….I probably spend at least an hour a day reading The Standard. I make few comments but really appreciate the information shared by Swordfish and other commentators.

I was going to suggest it be submitted to Spin Off as a counter to such a blatant attempt to interfere in the negotiations with a party political speech on behalf of the National Party.

I cannot stand the woman. She’s arrogant. She’s a fake and a nasty piece of work to boot. She predicted on Q&A two weeks ago that Winston would go with National. Can’t have anyone denying her God-given right to always be right.

In short, she’s a cow. [Ok, that’s an insult to cows I know]. 😡

1.2 Brilliant collection of views. Really helpful. We are on limited broadband as we are overseas, and I know you will provide a great read. Thanks swordfish.

      Very good analysis & write-up.

I almost sensed some bias by Dr Robinson but surely as a highly qualified academic surely she surely would surely make sure that this would not influence her interpretations & conclusions, surely. And don’t forget it is PBRF time …

Re. Spinoff being just another National party front – George Bernard Shaw maintained that Nationalism is the last refuge of the scoundrel.

        1. 1.5.1.2

They say that patriotism is the last refuge
          To which a scoundrel clings
Steal a little and they throw you in jail
Steal a lot and they make you king

There used to be a “Comedy Half Hour” in the dim, distant past somewhere on mainstream media.
Now, it’s limited in direct proportion to the reduction in spatial awareness and sound byte? bite? bit? needs of current affairs/news programming.

Did anyone else hear David SeeMore EeeeOrrr on Morning Report?
There goes an apologist for the neoliberal ideology (NO: religion, NO: community, NO: faith, NO: cult, NO: dialect, NO: epidemic, NO: pandemic, NO: language, NO: Empire, NO: UNIVERSE) human economic unit

Oh but Seymour must be right. He is very sure of his “facts” and because of his overwhelming electoral support, he is a frequent and popular commentator. Who knows. Seymour will one day be Prime Minister. Good show old chap.

What happened to the news concerning this recent cannabis bust? I looked all over, at different news outlets for some details, but can’t find anything.
Can anyone find me a helpful source? Ta.

One commentator talked of buying at Bulk Bin type places and using their own bags. In the olden days we bought biscuits in brown paper bags dished out by the grocer from biscuit tins about a foot cubed in size. This left some biscuits broken in the tin but we kids could by a few pennies worth of broken biscuits.

We recycle but we are still left with a mountain of un-recylable plastic.

      1. 4.1.1

We used to line up after school outside the Griffins factory for 10 cent bags of freshly made, still hot broken biscuits. I can smell them now…

We used to get freshly baked bread, whole loaves, in a paper bag. From the dairy, which was a two block walk from our house.

And the hardware store in town sold nails etc by the amount you wanted, not prepacked in plastic.

Confirmed, Tillerson did call him a fucking moron.

Trump is going around to staff/cabinet & showing them IQ test printout "proving he's not a moron." Claims he has an IQ of 203.— Rogue WH Snr Advisor (@RogueSNRadvisor) October 5, 2017

He counterpunches, in this case firing a shot at Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who reportedly called his boss a moron: “I think it’s fake news, but if he did that, I guess we’ll have to compare IQ tests. And I can tell you who is going to win.”

I doubt they would have taken anywhere near the consented level, but anyway I’m happier for the water to stay where it is

        A.

      2. 6.1.3

Damn, that’s a lot of money to not get. I mean who needs water?

We can make up for it though and sell your grandmother instead.

      3. 6.1.4

It’s the Greens that mentioned 10 cents per litre for bottled water. I don’t recall Labour getting more precise than a few cents per litre for bottled water and a cent or two per cubic metre for irrigation.

New Research Underlines the Importance of Connected and Automated Driving to Reduce Road Trauma

“The full adoption among the light passenger vehicle fleet of a selection of key automated driving and connected vehicle safety applications has the potential to prevent between 4,100 and 6,500 fatal and serious injury crashes in Australia and 310-485 fatal and serious injury crashes in New Zealand each year,” he said.

Which would be a significant saving in life and costs.

So, is there a political party anywhere with the spine to put in place the regulations making these features mandatory?

    1. 7.1

.. but we already have automated driving.

It’s called KiwiRail .. nearly gutted by the walking brain-dead in power.

Umm… Emma Espiner. Isn’t she Guyon Espiner’s spouse? I’m not saying there isn’t some truth in what she is saying, but the two sides will be even-stevens as far as numbers go. Only two in it. So, we can expect the Lab/Green/NZ First govt. to match the other side one on one.
