      These are great cartoons.

BTW: click into the cartoon to get the higher res version if you need to print it out. I had a few people having problems with slow display on the last one because I put the hi-res up.

This time I’ve sized it for the page

Johns depiction of Mullys baggy suited bewilderment that his brut 33 did’nt seem to be cutting it – gorgeous.
John makes Jonkey look a wee bit too sharp for my liking – but then apparently his slurpy-mouthed ‘aw shucks I sent some texas to the wrong numbas’ shtick is a bit of an act…..
And perhaps John would bring himself to ink in his blocks of black and that should do away with the felt pennyness – unless he’s aiming for that ‘look’.
As to encouragement – go hard mate.

These aren’t exactly the cutting political debate that I’m used to on The Standard – these cartoons are well drawn, but the jokes are a bit shallow.

(look through my previous comments – nothing to do with politics lprent – I’m a lefty!)

This is a very mixed site for the level of content. You get uber-serious stuff down to outright joke pieces.

But political cartoons usually are somewhat more shallow than straight text and charts – it is a limitation of the media. A bit like short stories or novellas making better movies than novels. But I did like the point about invading Antarctica. It is about the level of some of the ideas that this government has – like the legislation for crushing boy-racer cars which I don’t think has been exercised yet.

But I also suggested that you could suggest ideas for future cartoons?…….

How about something featuring Phil Goff.
            Topics could include
“Minister of silly walks” or “Anybody seen were I put my cucumber?”
            That would be quite funny.

              “Minister of silly walks‘
So you are happy to wait until next year to see this cartoon.
“Anybody seen were I put my cucumber?‘

In retrospect Winnie was a far superior foreign affairs minister than Mr Party central ever will be…..but hey jobs for the boys is the only criteria NACT use so relax everybody and be comfortable whilst Sideshow kicks some tyres.

Surely even McCully wouldn’t be that daft…. Ummm maybe I’m being optimistic. I just thought on the John Key memorial cycleway to cure unemployment during a recession

McCully’s gormless gaze is perfectly captured here.
The man elicits ridicule and dismay.
