    We once talked about revolution.

And on this day our King visited the USA to the court of Donaldo.

  2. Incognito 2

30 more sleepless nights for Nicola and then some.

Brent Oil is back at US$110 pb.

I’d suggest lowering the speed limit for trucks to 80 km/h on M-ways because this increases fuel efficiency. Possible downside might be unsafe overtaking manoeuvres by impatient passenger cars backed up behind slower trucks. I’d also implement a nation-wide AI Agent to optimise freight movements by road & rail – it’s a no-brainer and won’t cause any job losses because there’s nobody doing this at present, AFAIK.

      Interesting.

I did consider a freight co-ordination and rationalisation software as a business venture, Capitalist that I am, LOL, some years ago. I soon got the message that "competition" and profits, means that freight forwarding and transport firms have no interest in making transport work better overrall.

That’s a pity and ultimately our loss. Rail, sea transport, and planes do seem to be smarter and more efficient in combining/sharing & optimising capacity (and capability).

Ironic because shipping companies and airlines "collude" as cartels for freight.

International shipping managed to be exempt from NZ's commercial collusion rules in the commerce act.

Good point about possible collusion; I hadn’t thought about that – I’d make a bad capitalist and better stay idealist.

But you are a pragmatic idealist Incognito. Just what we need so keep up with both the practices. Particularly as our present troupe of mummers are neither idealist, pragmatic, practical or grounded. And never will be before we are under the ground. Don't let yourself become a dying breed; increase fertility, and fumigate the premises from the irrational orcs.
