After seeing Hootons diarrhea in the fish wrap this morning I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t the Moff's ideas man. Their cynical attack commentary on the PM have very similar tones.

“she does not have the knowledge, background, intellect or skill to win a contentious policy debate…….”

I would add Hoskings “middle NZ” won’t accept that nonsense.

      He's on the money though.

The celebrity PM is such a flake, sooner she moves onto the UN, the better it will be for NZ.

Even though the guy’s a complete clown I think I’d prefer Little to Ardern at least he’d be interested in doing the PM job.

Robertson would be another choice if Little didn’t want to lead, anyone would be better than Ardern.

You’re dreaming if you think she’ll conveniently bugger off to the UN or some other global agency. Like that dumbfuck Hawkesby in the Herald such thinking betrays your real assessment of the situation.

Dream on BM . The PM is anything but a flake. Intelligent, socially and emotionally intelligent.

"Anyone would be better than Ardern" . That's from your point of view, because you know she will win the next election.

What's Ardern not doing that she should be as PM?

        1. 1.1.2.1

The basics, this government is like a really bad tv reality show.

          As Michael Bassett said

She has considerable talents, but she has a knowledge deficit. It shows in foreign policy. Jacinda doesn’t know much about international affairs and doesn’t understand the historical relationships between New Zealand and the Pacific. She certainly doesn’t understand Russia, which is emerging as the next best thing to an international rogue state. Put her alongside Helen Clark, the last Labour Prime Minister, and Jacinda looks like a rank amateur. She desperately needs to know more, but when you are Prime Minister you don’t have time to go out and learn: you are meant to have done that already. A bachelor in communications from Waikato University is not quite the same as a first-class honours degree in politics and history, which is what Clark had, plus the better part of a PhD.

            Quoting Michael Bassett's opinion piece…..yawn……

Just that boring meme the right are trying to spin at the moment "Jacinda's doesn't know what she's doing"………or in your words is a flake. Flake = meaningless label.

Dream on BM. She will romp home next election. Suck it up…….

          2. 1.1.2.1.2

"doesn’t understand the historical relationships between New Zealand and the Pacific"

Unlikely – her family has been involved in the Pacific for quite some time – Niue in particular. More likely the writer is making shit up.

                1. 1.1.2.1.2.1.1.1

Not bad, but to be proud of not having a PhD is the exact opposite of the intellectual snobbery I was alluding to @ 1.1.2.1.2.1 and, in my view, an equally silly position to hold.

Next Newspoll on the Aussie election will be interesting. There’s a sense that Shorten has underperformed in the first week and Easter and ANZAC Day have interrupted the flow of the campaign, which may be to Morrison’s advantage.
