That is not nice BM. Lots of people have unusual ideas that aren’t completely logical. For instance a lot of economists think we can have infinite growth on a finite planet. Batshit crazy eh?

          1. 2.1.1.1.2

BM So your idea of helping is to say batshit crazy. Just butt out why don’t you. We don’t need your facile opinion on everything.

BM, I think you under-appreciate Eco.
Myself, I enjoy going through Eco’s contributions (when time allows, they can be long) to see if I can work out what’s going on.
At the moment I lean towards an ‘Ern Malley’ hypothesis, see Ern Malley.

Slow down friend. I’m a bit confused by all this. It sounds like you are really stressed out and need a bit of support. There is some difficult stuff out there particularly if you don’t have permanent work and a decent income. I hear your’e upset. Just not sure what’s going on. Is there any whanau you can talk to. Take care

Only if you are wearing those “Dr Nick’s” brand double thickness neoprene body waders. These are the ones with the now famous “inaction gusset” that allows bullshit to pass out through a semi-permeable membrane but not get in. However the wearer does get very hot (it being neoprene) goes floridly red in the face and as dehydration sets in rambles incoherently, suffers delusions of grandeur and loses touch with reality.

Some Petrol stations are short of the very product that defines them. Wellington and Auckland seem to be affected (these are comments from the grape vine). Anyone out there who can confirm this or knows something along these lines please?

Ombudsman finds Jacinda was correct about the negotiation documents and that they were not official Govt documents and are there fore entitled to do what ever they want with them, including changing the font.

TV1 news has three political stories tonight, one on John Key, another between Coleman and Julie Anne Genter and this other one titled “English baits PM over whether regional jobs opportunities are in line with what the public were led to believe”.

It’s about time the board at NZ on Air was replaced, I don’t think there would be too many to object to that.

Yes I’m Bored with the Board at RNZ (RadioNZ) who probably pay too much attention to Michelle Boag and top National political; professionals and drivers.

I thought FJK was supposed to be a financial guru with a nose for a deal, yet:

Key, a former currency trader, said he had never invested in Bitcoin

In July 2010 when Key was preparing to sell NZ energy assets for less than they were worth to his wealthy mates at the expense of all NZ shareholders, bitcoin was worth $0.08 each. In 2017 one bitcoin is worth $24,000. That represent an increase in value of over 300,000 times but Key says he never invested.

I’d say the fake Key is a much wiser trader than the real one!

‘Embattled Labor senator Sam Dastyari has quit Parliament after a series of revelations about his links to Chinese Communist Party-aligned interests in Australia.’

I think several leading National Party MPs and exMPs should be investigated on this charge.

I was watching Question Time today, with the subtitles switched on. Someone types what is said live. So they sometimes type the wrong thing and need to correct.

Initially the following supplementary question from Jonathan Coleman:

… the Lancet, the world’s oldest medical journal, says in its November editorial that “with Jacinda Ardern, Mark SIS ideas have re-entered the political debate in health.”?

    Then it was corrected:

Hon Dr Jonathan Coleman: With Pete Hodgson running the Dunedin Hospital rebuild and a PPP being ruled out, does he understand why The Lancet, the world’s oldest medical journal, says in its November editorial that “with Jacinda Ardern, Marxist ideas have re-entered the political debate in health.”?

Maybe the typist just couldn’t imagine Ardern was using Marxist ideas?

France made climate financing a priority for the entire duration of its presidency of COP21, and the Green Climate Fund is one of the instruments of the climate agreement’s financial mechanism. As such, it helps to finance the commitments made under the Paris Agreement. The GCF has raised US$ 10.2 billion to date. France is the fifth largest contributor, having pledged USD 1 billion.

France’s new President Emmanuel Macron is leading the charge to keep the momentum on the landmark accord that was reached in the French capital in 2015, after a pullout decision by Trump that drew condemnation from world leaders.

“The aim of the president and Nicolas Hulot (Ecology Minister) is to go beyond the targets we set ourselves within the framework of the Paris agreement,” government spokesman Christophe Castaner told reporters after a government meeting.

Castaner said a detailed list of policy actions would be issued in the next 15 days. He said they would lay out climate changes for the next five years and also seek to show where France will exceed its previous commitments.

The government will also launch a website dedicated to attract climate change researchers from the United States and other countries as well as businesses involved in climate-linked innovation to France, Castaner said.

The article I linked to above shows that Maron is following through on this promise.

France along with other EU nations are reducing their GHG emissions.

Now I’m no fan of neo-liberal economics anymore than you – but one must give credit where credit is due, and Macron is keeping to his word wrt tackling Climate Change.

‘Surveillance firms spied on campaign groups for big companies, leak shows
Targets included grieving family of Rachel Corrie, environmental activists and local campaigners protesting about phone masts

British Airways, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Porsche are among five large companies that have been identified as having paid corporate intelligence firms to monitor political groups that challenged their businesses, leaked documents reveal.

The surveillance included the use of infiltrators to spy on campaigners.’
