Governments are all accountable to their constituents (theoretically), but most have hidden secrets that the public only in history discover.

I, or is it just me ?

Find the secrets of our current Government deplorable.

I sometimes wonder that the fact that I may only have 12 months left on this earth, may give me the licence to say what I want.

Freedom of speech is limited, Hagar proved that.

My biggest fear, and my reason for not speaking out is that my IP address is readily available to the “right” geeks.

My family has no right to suffer from my politics.

Man oh man, if the dead could speak !!!

John Key doesnt support child molesters, sex offenders or rapists. I heard him say it on a clip on the news. Who is that with him in the picture?

    1. 2.2

Wasn’t the guy next to Key appointed by him a Minister of Police or something???
      A prominent NZer?
Who was Key accusing of supporting sex offenders?

  2. 4

Did anyone catch the bit in Key’s diatribe about people with mental health problems not being allowed on commercial flights?

  3. 6

Has Key knowingly supported any rapists, murderers or sex offenders?

Labour arguably has, as at least some of the people on Christmas Island do fall into that category.

It’s like when David Cunliffe apparently had lunch (or something) with a prominent criminal in Queenstown I believe it was. No harm no foul – since David didn’t know about the man’s history.

“Has Key knowingly supported any rapists, murderers or sex offenders?”

Lol, would love to see that one asked in Question Time.

“Labour arguably has, as at least some of the people on Christmas Island do fall into that category.”

By that argument the NZ govt (including National) has too eg they feed convicted rapists and murderers when in prison.

Oh cmon, [be careful – MS] springs to mind straightaway & Richard Worth was known for his icky ‘foibles’.

      1. 6.2.1

I’m not aware of any public information that impeaches [careful – MS] background of being anything more than a wholesome man that quit Parliament in order to spend more time with his family.

        1. 6.2.1.1

Are you saying that it’s not in the public domain that [careful – MS] was being investigated re serious assualt charges?

    3. 6.3

It was a bit much when some in the National Party tried to insinuate an unhealthy connection between David Cunliffe and the “prominent criminal” in Queenstown when I would have thought that the Nats would know him much much better than anyone in Labour ever could.

Will the next chapter include Key going to the lawyers’ end of year bash and assailing them for supporting child molesters, sex offenders and rapists?

      From the link:

Make no mistake – this was no passionate outburst. It was a coldly calculated tactic, cynically designed to remove stories about Key’s inaction and Labour’s conference from the media.

And it was written all over his face when he sat down after having made the accusations. Key is the one who should be in detention on Christmas Island. He’s a dangerous subversive character.

    2. 8.2

I think there’s more to it than the dead cat distraction. Not only does he want to draw attention away from Andrew Little’s speech, he does not want a competing narrative gaining any traction. The speech expressed a moral commitment to social justice in quite strong terms, and Key is far more comfortable with shallow expedience being widely regarded as good common sense.

Remember when gossip columnist Rachel Glucina left the NZHerald to work at MediaWorks? Well, apparently it’s not going so well:

Sources close to the Scout newsroom have said that since the site was launched by TV3 owners Mediaworks in September, at least eight of the original nine-strong editorial team have left.

One source said a common thread behind the staff turnover was friction between Glucina and her staff members.

“The way she talks is not okay – everyone got fed up,” the source said.

    😈

Yesterday made me revisist Key’s clear sexism. It brought me to his chief of staff going to Sutton’s press conference and then doing a mea culpa and lettng Key say Key knew nothing of it. It’s all the people around him prepared to be his fall people that staggers me.
