Great and what a great weather forecast until Monday anyway. One day I will do it and tread where you tread Ad.

I discovered that the dahlias had multiplied by dozens. Dug up the bulbs and offered them to anyone who wanted some bulbs. But then got cold feet because online the experts were sprouting the bulbs, slicing them off, hormone powder, and grow as small shoots to flourish upwards.
I thought that you could just plant the many bulbs, and stand back.
    Anyone?

Just throw them in ianmac they’ll be fine.
if you want to go to a little more effort a dusting of Sulphur before planting can help keep fungus at bay.
The propagation technique you mention is a way of turning one tuber into many if you want to boost stocks quickly. You can do the same with seed potatoes to get more bang for your buck… rooting hormone not required…

Finish off my trellis fence, add a few locks to my casement windows and do a bit more work on the sun room that I built.

All up a fairly busy labour weekend.

Dig up soil, and then steam sterilization it till all the bulbs are killed. That is a massive job, and if you find a Bretts gardening book, it will show you how to do it at home.

Another way is to dig it up. Oxalis, is a bulb and difficult to dig up. Best method I found is to dig deep at the side of where it is, put the soil onto a tarp and hand pick out all the bulbs. Then put bulbs into a plastic bag with some water and leave in the sun – till they rot.

It’s Saturday. The sun is shining …. It’s warm, and perhaps time for a drink. Something special? What about a special treat? Lewis Road Chocolate milk?

Taste Testing: The new “Lewis Road Creamery Fresh Chocolate Milk” vs “Nippys Iced Chocolate”

Lewis Road is the “new” milk on the block. I went to the supermarket at 8:15 this morning, and there were about 30 people waiting for the Lewis Road delivery truck to arrive (some had been waiting since 7:30.) I went home and read the paper, and went back half an hour later to purchase my Lewis Road milk. Fortunately there were four bottles left (it was rationed to two bottles a customer)

Back at home I carried out taste testing with three guests who are staying. Everybody tasted from glasses labelled with a yellow or blue sticker for the two different types of chocolate milk, that did not identify the brand

    Price
Lewis Road Milk: $6:50 for 750mls
    Nippys Milk $2:40 for 375mls

    Sugar (gram per 100ml)
    Lewis Road 11.6
    Nippys 7.9
    Standard Milk 4.8

    Energy (kJ per 100ml)
    Lewis Road 584
    Nippys 267
    Standard Milk 260

    PREFERENCE
    Lewis Road Milk 1 person
    Nippys Milk 3 people

You just have to admire the marketing campaign for those Lewis Road manufacturers! A new company, that starts a new product at Premium prices! It’s good, but not so good that I would wish to pay 50% more for it, and queue for an hour!

Using the data above, the new Lewis Road chocolate milk seems to be a simple mixture of Whittakers chocolate blended into standard milk. And the amount? HALF of a 250 gram slab of Whittakers in EACH bottle of milk.

    Glug glug glug,
    Twenty two pieces of chocolate.
    That was nice wasn’t it?

And in my small survey, Lewis Road wasn’t even the preferred drink!!

Cyclists don’t kill cyclists, larger fast moving metal boxes on wheels do.
Bemoaning cyclists habits is like bemoaning customers for the chefs bad food.
Since the road law is clear, you must always be able to come to a stop.
    Slow down!
