Chloe Swarbrick should stand strong in Auckland Central
Having two strong left wing women standing in an electorate is great for women, the left and New Zealand. It may also help us move away from macho politics towards both/and politics.

The Scottish government has just taken a massive step to eradicate period poverty. Why not here?
What lies behind the homelessness crisis in Aotearoa New Zealand? Is it a housing crisis or are the homeless to blame? If the problem is a housing crisis, why is there an assumption that the homeless themselves need extra services to secure and maintain rental housing?
Abortion is still a crime in NZ. It’s time to change the law so that women don’t have to lie about their mental health to get the health care they need.

After twice killing off pay equity legislation (2009, 1990), National have been forced to confront the issue again.
Police have called on Bob’s expertise to establish if the crime actually happened. We now all know thanks to Bob’s expertise, that women don’t get raped unless they are attractive, dress sexy and go out beyond their front gate at night. Besides women can’t drive like a guy or have fun like a guy. Bob knows just how women think – at least better than the police?
Yet more evidence that women are the smarter sex.
National continue to target the vulnerable with their cuts. Their latest moves in cutting the budgets of Womens’ Refuges and a national Self-Defence course for girls are merely the latest example.
4 out of 7 of Switzerland’s cabinet are now women – a progressive surprise from a conservative country.
