      +1 Paul

Maybe the government is saving tax payer money by having this served at the TPPA propaganda roadshow instead of the usual endangered tooth fish or sea bass.

      Or

Could it be yummy fare from the new Spotless catering contract now running the food served in hospitals?

(Note maybe if it is good enough for sick people, the same contracts should be serving up parliamentary food and political catering events to politicians).

One was served at a National Party fund raising luncheon the other three were donated to the Mission by the Party to show how well their trickle down charity worked.

  2. 4

Three of them are the real deal – hospital food.
the other is a fake meal for a proganda photoshoot with the minister. – What’s my prize?

There is still plankton left in the oceans, but it’s a work in process. The Natz have oil exploration and coal being extracted and TPPA legislation to increase climate change at a faster level… while buying fake credits

      What’s my prize?

A Compass hospital meal of your choice although you can’t choose the one on the upper right unless you are a Minister.

    3. 4.3

Too be able to smirk at the next politician you meet of your choosing. or not

Yes the Nacoids doing their bit for Private Health. 👿

Having been in NZ hospitals a couple times I can affirm that not only is the minister’s dish rather more appetizing than those in the other photos (and more appealing than the meals I received which were at least better than what is pictured here), the portion served to the minister is utterly unrealistic. A complete propaganda photo.

Photo 2, hospital fare under Labour government, Photo 1, 3 and 4 hospital fare under a National government.

And none of these show the condition of VEGETABLES . I had noticed these not displayed on the Minister’s plate!!!

    1. 7.1

Green or leafy vege subjected to the storage and travel regimes that these meals are subject to would quickly degrade to a grey mash.

      That’s why they’re avoided.

Fairfax County, Virginia prison nutraloaf recipe:

    120 slices of wheat bread
    25 cups grated nondairy cheese
    10 cups raisins
    4 cups vegetable oil
    15 cups grated carrots
    15 cups well-drained spinach
    60 cups vegetarian beans
    8 cups tomato puree
    15 cups nondairy powdered milk
    12 cups instant potatoes
    1 pound brown sugar
    1 cup white sugar

    1. Mix.
    2. Bake at 325 degrees F. for 40 minutes.

    Makes 60 servings

Even that sounds like a better meal than what’s being fed to hospital patients.

Some people imagine that milk, cheese and ice cream don’t need to have had anything to do with a cow, not when you can have a factory make stuff that looks a bit like milk, cheese and ice cream from various kinds of edible processed shite. Americans seem much more willing to put up with imitation food than NZers, although a disturbing number of lactose-tolerant NZers seem to drink soy “milk.”

      2. 9.1.2

I don’t know, but I’m wondering more about why they had to specify vegetarian beans. What are non-vegetarian beans?

  6. 10

This looks like good old fashioned kiwi fare.

Just the sort that should be served at Bellamy’s.

    🙂

What the hell is Photo 4? It looks as though someone’s evacuated their bowels on a plate, and then garnished it with half a stale bread roll. If you weren’t sick when you arrived, after eating that grotesque muck you probably will be. I wouldn’t feed that to my cat.

The one ‘meal’ in the Top-Left corner is the only one that shows signs of actually been touched & eaten.

    1. 12.1

It looks to me to have been rolled up and the end bitten off. But then dumped back on the plate and the bit they had bitten of the end spat back on its side!

Well, yes, it looks like something that came out OR destined for Pathology but ended up on the wrong trolley. Only a pathologist or forensic scientist would be able to tell the difference.

Yep. Agree this tasted of a propaganda photo shoot…
Hospital food doesn’t have to be like attending a B+ grade restaurant but needs to be better than this!
