I know I’m dreaming, but it would be nice, if Collin’s is gone, that instead of days of righteous outrage and “told you so’s”, if (at least on ts) the focus was to stay squarely on John Key and the entire two track strategy; his endorsement of it; part in it; and the media’s compliance with it.

But yeah – waiting for a stream of posts and comments everywhere amounting to fuck all beyond a kind of “ya-boo sucks! Gotcha” type shit….while the slippery one slides.

I don’t know, Key will be doing his classic slippery shit, double time, so I expect there to be plenty of critique of that. I think the biggest distraction will be how badly the MSM handles this.

If it is true – we will see open factional warfare. Will be interesting, nasty and brutal – godless egoist verses all the other factions . The left should be smart and feed that war. Not self congratulate.

I agree. If this is about Adam Feeley, this isn’t left/right, it’s the right cannablising itself. Although I think it might be godless egoists cannabilising themselves too 😉

If she is gone, will all those who muttered that she must “have something” on Key punch themselves in the face? Please? And learn from it?

Key has made an utter hash of this. He’s held on to a tainted minister too long, allowing her to cause massive damage to his credibility and authority; and now sacking her (or accepting her resignation, for the pedants) makes him look like a fool for extending so much leniency.

Very clumsy handling of a crisis at a rather crucial time. Another week of bad headlines await for National.

    🙂

      🙄

Are we going to have to put up with your sanctimonious comments all through this or was this a one off?

Got any evidence that Collins doesn’t have anything on Key, or even a decent theory on why that might be so? No, thought not.

Or she’s simply accepted that she’s done for now, and taking the whole ship down with her isn’t going to help her in the long run.

    Herald says ”

Collins’ resignation comes after evidence emerged in the past 24 hours of her role in moves to discredit SFO boss Adam Feeley.”

Anyone have any details about that ??

    1. 8.1

I was wondering that too yeshe. That would be the same Adam Feeley that now runs the Queenstown Lakes District Council, and is rolling out the neoliberal agenda from the changes to the Local Govt Act 18 months ago.

So what does this mean? Is it conformation of her Dirty Politics stuff (all denied by everyone on the Blue side)? Or is confirmation of that plotted against Key? Or is it confirmation that plotting against Key is more of a sackable offense than releasing the names and addresses of public servants doing their job? Or is it confirmation that Winston Peters is now mor important than a senior minister because the gap in the polls is closing? Please feel free to add to this list.

so who released the new emails that have brought her down ? fascinating … more drama than the dirty House of Cards ….

  6. 16

The email is on Stuff. What about Jared Savage at the Herald? His job must be on the line now and the Heralds credibility already low now sunk to an all time low.

Key’s biggest lie this morning was given away by his sucking-in tell — after he said that he only dealt with Slater on one issue.

And Winston is nailing it to Key on TV3 …

    1. 20.1

Yes what Winston is saying is very plausible.

Oo! Grant Robertson is doing well too.

And Key only managed to say ‘at the end of the day’ twice. Pretty remarkable really.
