To be effective, in my opinion, this billboard/poster must hit at the heart of the “it doesnt effect me cos I have done nothing wrong” brigade.

It needs to be pithy and to this point.

Have tried to put my thinking cap on. Sadly I am not up to it.

Perhaps as well as raising money for the protest this thread could try to address this issue?

How/why does it impact people who believe it doesnt because they have done nothing wrong?

“There’s no need for the spies to see my blood test results, my new employment contract, or my son’s birthday present before he does”

I would put a picture of Goebbels giving a nazi salute and the quote “You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide” across it, with his name next to it as he is attributed to saying it.

Nothing to hide. Doesn’t affect me. It’s clever because they have framed the conversation so that privacy is about bad things… BUT Privacy is also very good and enables us to live the freely expressed lives we take for granted.

What does a life without privacy look like?

What does my searching of the Internet out of curiosity look like? Can you really get instructions on how to make a bomb online? I’ll look.

I attended a protest against spying.

Can these two things be put together t look like something else?

I emailed a friend about doing a cash job. Is “cash job” a search word for those doing data analysis, or is the computer doing the analysis? Afterall I have just breach the Tax laws and admitted it.

I downloaded “Macklemore and Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton – Can’t Hold Us” but didn’t pay for it. I have just broken the law.

I email a friend about problems with one of my children who I had to physically drag to his room to shut him in after he destroyed part of the lounge. Crimes Act anyone?

Enrolled on a dating site, put in everything about me but checked only some boxes cos there’s some stuff I want to wait to share with a prospective partner (because privacy is a good thing)

For all those who have nothing to hide, walk naked for a day through your life… still feel you have nothing to hide.

    That is great news.

And TDB has now added David Shearer as the 12th speaker – last cab off the rank, but I suppose better late than never. (I would have preferred DC, or Robertson after Anne’s comments yesterday about a meeting where he spoke very knowledgeably on the GCSB Bill.)

Yes Veutoviper Grant was very impressive. But so is Cunliffe. I will say one thing though… David Shearer is much better in front of an audience than he is on TV and radio interviews. That has been my observation anyway. Fingers crossed.

Would it be possible to publish the names, addresses and phone numbers of SIS and GCSB employees?
Surely they have nothing to hide/fear?

I thought I post this here, as I came across it, passed on by someone else. It is not that new, but perhaps some may want to see and review, how Dotcom comes across in German media!

He appears a bit “different” there, but maybe that is the ‘cultural’ bit? Anyway, watch for yourselves, but it is not in your language:

So, whatever, we will see and hear from Kim on Monday in Auckland.
