I would have thought at the float but the sharemarket is so detached from reality that it is a law unto itself….until it isnt

I heard that on Checkpoint and was very impressed. A little more information from the RNZ website:

"An 860 hectare mountain bike park worth about $22 million has been gifted to the New Zealand public. An international investor has transferred the land south of Nelson to the Department of Conservation. Wondering why? Well you wouldn't be the only one…."

The four minute audio explains that the Cayman Is based investor, head of a not for profit RHL (?) has gifted the park and reserve to the Crown as a recreational reserve, to be open not just to mountain bikers but the general public. As well as the biking facilities it apparently is of considerable ecological and conservation significance in terms of plants and wildlife, with the latter including birds such as NZ Falcons, Shining Cuckoos, etc. More info in the audio.

How are you, Patricia? How have you recovered from your op? Hope all is well.

At end of Feb I decided to take a break as a number of things/people were "getting my goat" and I needed to leave before I spoke my mind to one or two.

.As we all are, I am a guest here in someone else's house and the TS Trust, lprent, and other authors/moderators set the rules – rightly so. I continued to read but not comment apart from one or two quick 'pass bys'. It was interesting to take the step back as looking from the outside in led to a much more objective understanding of what some contributors were on about, etc. Some good, some not so much so, with a few surprises in the mix. TS was a big part of my life for some years through some tough times, and I hope to continue to comment from time to time. The atmosphere changes continually so will see where things go. But I have been thinking about you and just hoped that things were on the upper when I saw your comments here.

Thanks. Was in fear that I was in trouble for my replies a few nights ago, but tried not to overstep the mark into 'moderator' territory … but enough was enough and the second sentence in para 4 of comment 20 was beyond the pale imho. (OM 26 June, comment 20 and my replies, and 22.)

All good. I didn’t want to intrude on your personal note to Patricia Bremner so kept it is as small as possible. Good to see you back.

A considered well laid out opinion will never go astray here even if/when it’s aimed at the site or its moderators. Demands are seen but generally ignored …
