Chatting with a non politically engaged workmate and he told me that he saw an ad on the web that said Labour were going to introduce 7 taxes.

When I asked him what they were he did reasonably well in mentioning 5 of them. When I assured him that wasn't true he came to the conclusion that 'National are lying'.

If, like me you are over the obfuscation, mis and disinformation and outright lying there is a way to push back. The Advertising Standards Authority. OK, they are a tad toothless but if enough of us write a complaint it can become news in itself. Like Catherine Bindon did. She would like an apology but Slimey Simeon Brown ain't that sort of fella.
