Why party processes matter, a case study:
1. Party leader casually calls for MMP referendum in a radio chat.
2. Party's MPs initially say (correctly) it's not party policy.
3. MPs then decide it has to be, because the leader has said so. He's dropped them in it, and they have to close ranks. "100% agree with leader" rule applies.
4. Leader lacks the political skill and honesty to admit an error. Self first, policy last.
5. Party is consequently saddled with a policy they didn't discuss and don't want.

In isolation, not a big deal. But it won't be a one-off. It's what happens again and again when you choose a not-smart guy who is certain he's the smartest one.
He and Willis, and Keir Starmer and his austerity finance lady seemed to almost resonate in sync. Both leaders rigidly convinced they are right, in actuality, charisma-less sock puppets unaware of their powerlessness. With two Thatcherite finance ministers propping them up. Starmer marginally handsomer, and at least able to speak in paragraphs.
Starmer, at least, can speak proper English properly, Luxon, on the other hand, cannot speak properly but his excuse will be that English isn’t an official language of NZ and he was never taught how to speak proper English properly at school – he should have gone private because this has been holding him back, obviously, and National, and the Coalition, and the whole country. Every parent knows that learning to speak proper English properly is a milestone of a toddler’s development. Luxon is just spitting dummies and splashing bathwater around.

How can you see that?
I just can't wait for Karoline Leavitt's book that will detail how she was shoved out to be a part of the decoy, while the New Chosen blonde got to escape with Trump.
If anyone can recall, following the NATO-related summit in Turkiye, Trump used a catering truck to covertly swap from Air Force One to a decoy jet due to a security threat.
The New Blonde Natalie Harp was chosen to go on the secure transfer, while Karoline Leavitt and and media stayed on the original flight.
Leavitt resigned two days later, saying she was going to spend more time with her family. Now sure, this could all be the work of Iranian bots.
But honey when you live by the sword you are going to die by it.
