Patrick Gower is off on one of his typical personal crusades against Labour again today: Andrew Little must apologise to John Shewan (yes of all the urgent issues in the world and NZ, this is top of Gower’s list). Dita DeBoni has the perfect reply:

Perhaps the Government might want to say sorry

The Government should apologise to the people of New Zealand for treating them with utter contempt and total disrespect.

The language is a parody of the Gower rant.

They have been caught out, time after time, speaking untruths – about really important stuff – and refusing to rectify problems, let alone admit to them.

This week alone, it emerged from tax expert John Shewan that the country’s laws around tax-free trusts were inadequate and the trusts were probably being used as tax havens – as the IRD has warned several times previously.

It’s completely contrary to what John Key has assured us for so many months.

Mr Key got that wrong, and has to put it right.

Bill English was found to have pulled figures out of the ether when making his claim that the country could not afford paid parental leave.

Alarmingly for a Finance Minister, he seemed to be unable to calculate that Sue Moroney’s proposal would add just $120 million – not $240 million – a year, to his budget.

Where’s his apology for getting this rather large sum wrong? …

      And how about apologies to two former senior Foreign Office diplomats whose names were dragged through the mud by this govt. vis a vis it’s pitiful apologist, Paula Rebstock.

      And what about an apology to Julie-Anne Genter whose ‘recommendations’ were described by John Key as barking mad (thus inferring JAG was barking mad) then turns around and agrees to implement identical recommendations by John Shewan.

    Key never apologises for anything unless there are votes in it.
    Today in Question Time Key had at least two goes at Andrew calling for Andrew to apologise. One of them was in the guise of asking a question to the English.

    Paddy’s been an fwit to other nice, normal human beings since he was 21. Seen it up close and it wasn’t pretty. Leopards don’t change their spots. He’s not even particularly clever, so it’s hard to fathom how he got his job other than by brown-nosing the right people and making his usual snide jokes at other people’s expense.
    His personal attacks on Cunliffe during the last election campaign were outrageous, and helped to ensure this nasty mob remained in power. How much damage has been inflicted on the country in the last few years? How many families have slipped from working class to underclass through no fault of their own? Shame on Gower.

    . Would I be wrong in thinking that NEWSHUB hates nearly 50% of the New Zealand population ?. And adores the nearly 50% who follow Mr Flawed Key? The little girl seeker.

    If NEWSHUB is in anyway receiving funding from the New Zealand Government, could the nearly 50% of hated people take a case to Court on the grounds of constant harassment and humiliation funded and promoted by Parliament?

    NEWSHUB is deliberately undermining, despising and ridiculing nearly 50% of New Zealanders in what I would call an MSM Stalag of cultural hatred.
