I made the same joke, ianmac, about my wife’s latte which she was having at Watery Mouth. I had an earthquake inspection here a week ago and I will be expediting his recommendations for bracing.

Final night for “King and Country”, so the show maybe will continue to move the audience even more than it has for the first five performances.

Listening to and watching the always wonderful Seth Lakeman: https://rdln.wordpress.com/2014/12/30/seth-lakemans-workers-lives-review-of-tales-from-the-barrelhouse-and-word-of-mouth/

And listening to Damien Dempsey; https://rdln.wordpress.com/2014/03/28/damo-does-the-dux-gig-review/

Also a bit of Cassandra Wilson, such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnQE0I98Bgs

Currently reading Ann Matthews, ‘Renegades’, which is about republican women in the struggle for Irish freedom in the early 1900s, and awaiting the arrival of her new book on the workers’ militia, the Irish Citizen Army.

    Hi all,
I hope it is okay to cut and paste this notice here. The time is now 2.30pm. Apologies for the confusion caused when I commented about it in open-mike. There will be an introduction, readings, a bit of music and a short silent remembrance.

Dunedin: Remembering War by Working for Peace: An Alternative Ceremony on ANZAC Day, on Saturday, 25 April, at 2pm, at the Peace Pole in front of the Otago Museum – details at http://www.converge.org.nz/pma/anzac15-dun.pdf Organised by the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies and Dunedin peace people.

I hope the alternative ceremony goes well.

It’s difficult to work out what to do on ANZAC where I am. We sent apologies for the dawn service, citing the linking of current troop deployment with false patriotism about the Gallipoli campaign.

Instead I’ve been reading a short novel by Stefan Zweig that gives picture of life in defeated post-imperialist Vienna.

Out Tui are back for the winter with I suspect an extra pair this year and because the damn birds have me wrapped around their little talons I’m adding another sugar feeder to their table.

I am in the bath. After everything that has gone on this week I felt like I needed a good scrubbing.

As you were, I shall resume my lurking.

Nice one f dx. Welcome to the commenters club. I shampooed my hair 3 times (instead of the usual 2) this evening just to make sure this week’s muck and dirt was fully ex-sponged. 🙂
