Watched a clip about how to graft fruit trees. Seemed simple enough. Obtained a few branchlets from a cherry tree and tried to attach them to a self sown flowering cherry tree in my yard. Oh. Not so easy to match cambrian wood to cambrian wood after all.
Perhaps at Christmas I’ll just go and pick-your-own at the orchard.
“Aye, ‘ard graft, is thut. Life’s not a bole of cherries, like.” All to be said in broad Yorkshire.
MY favourite Blue Grass track at the moment. I need to get into Marbecks and pick up the c.d.

Power meters on your switch board as a check on the ones supplied by the power company on the outside
A cheap effective way to ensure the power you use is the same as what you are billed for and monitoring appliances could be a must for housing warrant of fitness when it happens

Thanks Robert. I was trying to insert a pointed end into a split host of the same dimension. Maybe I should try that cut thick branch wedded to a small insert with as you say making sure the cambium matches the outer side. Mmm. Maybe another foray into the nearby cherry orchard?
I have just dug up a lawn in the back that we don’t use for a vege garden, all dug in gets tons of sun so here’s hoping…
David H:Lots of compost and added trace elements and then just as your vegies get ready they appear at the Supermarket – cheaply! Still great satisfaction eh?
