I see Brett is running his usual line.

Funny cartoon. Reminds me of one of the late Fredrick Pohl novels In the “Space Merchant” series about the effects of over-marketing.

There was a sequence where some up and comers in the corporate world were discussing the relative advantages about different types of cars. It cracked me up when I realized that “direct drive” = using your feet to push, and “chain drive” = a pedal car.

You can just see that kind of crap happening when the cheap oil runs out.

Brett, it’s not about identity politics. It’s about the owners of the means of production having undue influence over the leader of the National Party.

All’s fair in political cartoonery – it’s a socially-acceptable form of propaganda. You Labour-haters don’t get to cry foul about mild stuff like the above given some of the vile content which gets published by your side.

Brett: How about we have a propaganda battle?

In the blue corner, Exhibit A: National’s 1975 `Dancing Cossacks’ election advertisement.

Exhibit C: `Join The Resistance’, an attack campaign against Dick Hubbard (and Labour, incidentally) ahead of the 2007 local body elections. http://youtube.com/watch?v=gB5NQdeEgwo

I love political cartoons, no matter which side they’re on. Let’s see the worst you can find from the left. Although I’ve constrained my exhibits to NZ sources, I don’t expect you to do the same.

Most of the hateful cartoons I have seen come from the left.

Generally those with creative talents (artistic, comic ect) support the left.

There are a lot of good cartoonists at slate.com

I find it quite strange, that all these so called lefties cartoonist should allow their cartoons to be published in papers owned by news corp.

It shows they are just in it for the money.

Brett: If slate is the best you can do, it looks like you turned up to this knife-fight armed with a spoon.
