Former Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says he briefed both former Police Minister Chris Hipkins and current Police Minister Mark Mitchell about Jevon McSkimming’s affair with a young woman.

Mitchell said he stands by all his statements and that Coster's recollections are wrong.

"If Mr Coster's focus is on relitigating matters, there are legal recourses available to him and if he truly believes what he is saying, nothing prevents him pursuing those."

Hipkins has been approached for comment. He told TVNZ's Q+A he had no recollection of the conversation.

The presumption will be: Coster is lying. He’s covering up for his own inadequacies. I don’t think so. He told them but it was within the bounds of “casual conversations.’ He and Hipkins were in the back seat of a car travelling in the Sth. Island in 2022. Hipkins was probably half asleep with fatigue. Something similar with Mitchell. It happens to all of us.

Coster thinks they‘re “running for the hills”. I doubt it.

Ironic given both the current police commissioner and the current minister charged the former police hierarchy with misconduct and corruption and they were wrong. Oh well, even stevens as they say.

I saw the coverage tonight on both 3News & 1News. Hipkins & Mitchell were shown doing identical impressions of Sgt Schultz's famous `I know nothing' line, in response to the Coster allegation. His memory of him telling them both in prior years about the affair & email allegations contradicts their superb left/right consensual denial stance, which would have brought tears to the eyes of viewers who believe in democracy right across the nation. Many will also believe either him or they are lying.

As regards his view of them heading for the hills, I'd put my money on Hipkins getting there first. I ought to warn readers that there's a chance all 3 are telling the truth and he told them about the problem in an alternate universe. Physicists have been sharing the multiple-universe theory for a long time despite the reluctance of mainstreamers to jump onto that bandwagon…

Given the NZ Police has a pretty long track record of officers covering up each others indiscretions, the IPCA report and the decision to prosecute the complaint seemingly as a way to shut her up. Coster's probably made some very vague passing remark about it as an arse covering exercise without giving any indication whatsoever about the actual situation.

That said it seems incredulous that the various emails that were sent to various MP's offices making serious allegations were never passed on. There's no doubt in my mind that various politicians and media new of the allegations and did nothing.

Clam screws rivers and affects drinking water

Something is doing to the Waikato River that had been done to the Kauri.

With luck the government is all over this with its focus on water and preparedness. Imagine if the were fucking around trying to prevent anyone giving money to local councils while 70,000 offspring were released a year to damage our drinking water.

Still if they use their social housing model of eliminating the people to eliminate the problem, not having drinking water and people would make the country much easier for them to govern…

Not being kind is not an economic strategy, it is society nihilism

Not being kind is not a means of increasing productivity, it is catering to privilege and the interests of capital.

Not being kind is no way to resolve entrenched racial disparities.

Not being kind is no way to combat a pandemic – see the UK report.

Luxon presides over a board extracting more profit from the economy for the few and not the many, and is unable to comprehend why another decade of this approach might well ruin the nation for the next generation – not that they will protest, they know the way out.

Luxon posing more in prison, out of the way, the blunt force of the truncheon – supported so strongly by libertarians who vote ACT.

They claim others mean well, but only they know best.

Arrogant and inept in equal measure.

    An ideology without a heart.

And they will always portray those who want to make things better with some pithy put down.

Because the men of the empty suit, tell it like it is, or so we are led to believe in. That Mr Magoo like confidence that only another right wing tack in governance will lead us down the garden path of wealth inequality – that they covet so much.

This! Getting NZ Aotearoa on a backward NAct track, defending division by wealth, and hoovering like there's no tomorrow – as if their very lives depended on it even!
