Just for laughs – I've been getting my steps in while I can, and have started playing an almost carbon-free game when walking the footpaths. If you have quick/sharp eyes you can play with moving cars, but parked cars will do just as well.
The game is to make the longest word you can out of the letters on a number plate by adding only vowels. Finding a number plate you can add four vowels to is fairly rare – I was particularly pleased with aMMoNia – and recently I found the best one yet for me: aQuaLiNe. See, even when you can no longer drive, cars are still good for something.
It’s probably not original, and there will be plenty of variations. Have fun 🙂

Moving cars… motorcycles and trucks might add an extra adrenaline hit ? A possible variation might be making personalised plates from the existing letters/numbers?

In the car…on those lonnng drives there was naming a collection of critters. (with no phone internet) A pack of wolves. Easy! Some, much thinking,and then zzzzing : )

One of our commenters has brought us close to this problem and how hard it is on the mental health workers. It seems that the new facilities [in the news item] expanded the floor space, and that has exacerbated the shrinking of staff numbers. Is there a following of the trend in some schools of lots of open space and fewer rooms; perhaps a more disturbing environment? Just wondering.
If NZ was being run efficiently and effectively on business-like basis with checks and balances and cancellation of contracts for non-performance or faulty results Wellington wouldn't have these accumulating and unsolvable problems. It is bloody insulting to the country for the government to drape itself in gladrags while the rest of us will be in rags soon. All under the banner of democracy being so good. But what happened to ours, it's off the tracks. They must laugh at us peeps – those in the beehive.
