While I applaud the generosity of the people demonstrating why is nobody asking why so many why now and why from all over the Southern Mediterranean Somalia and Yemen. Ask these refugees themselves and they will tell you they don’t want to come to New Zealand. They want to stay as close as possible to their countries because all they want is for the bombing to stop and for them to get back to the lives they lived before the West decided to “liberate” them.
The West, blame the West. Simplistic. West or no west, these cultures have been butchering each other for centuries. Its Muslim turf and Muslims are indoctrinated to follow a violent path as per the ancient teachings. I would be accepting Christians. At least you know they would not turn on you in the future and be grateful.
