Great work, well produced. Professional. Good comms work coming out of Young Labour at the moment- keep it up.

    Join the opposition: get attention
includes BETTER everything, although only 1% and comes at a huge cost, but we can tap that off with the ignore button in our brains and everything shall be merry.

The acting, perhaps, is a little earnest, but the production is outstanding. Politcal Art in 20 years, I reckon. Well done, the youngsters. Good to see people out marching, taking back the streets and generally causing a kerfuffle. Should be more of it!

FYI – It’s not a Parody [A parody (also called send-up or spoof), in contemporary usage, is a work created to mock, comment on, or poke fun at an original work, its subject, or author, or some other target, by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation.]

It’s a direct rip if the IP of the original creator. It’s not making fun of the original material at all. I wonder when the owners of that IP shall be asking for the clips to be pulled.

Jeez vidiot, how did you manage to type out that definition without reading it?

(Hint: If your objection is “It’s not making fun of the original material at all” then you clearly didn’t understand “…at an original work, its subject, or author, or some other target…” .)

Also worth noting that the distinction between an attempted parody and a successful parody is purely a matter of taste.

What is *so* hilarious is the apoplexy that this spoof is generating over in the sewer and with the Kiwiblog right. Brings new meaning to the line in the ad that says “and all they can do is stand, helpless, twitching”.

Huh, didn’t know it was posted at The Standard, but should’ve guessed. Good effort for kids, but very very earnest. Not going to get those centre voters like that!

They’re not trying to win the election with this video. They’re trying to promote Young Labour and have a bit of fun. The angry, balding divorced small businessmen who inhabit the Kiwiblog comments section are not their target audience.

Good point, but I tend to think youngies are too cynical to go for it, but that’s just me.

Didn’t know the Kiwibloggers were balding though, gosh!

Having come across a fair amount of these type of creeps in my day-to-day I’d say “angry, balding divorced small businessmen” is a pretty fair characterisation. I’d also add greedy, anti-intellectual, sexually frustrated and xenophobic.
