Bloomin lovely…was in Wairarapa last weekend, there were ramblers and tea roses to die for, wet warm spring, massive growth on the old established plants. Enjoy the aroma.

Mrs Ennui has gone away to recharge her tolerance levels…trouting it is. If Jimgreen is reading how is the Manawatu fishing? My season to date has resembled a Dodo.

Sea-runners in the south and west have been going whoppers and apparently golden bay, just across from the manawatu, got slam-dunked in whitebait ….. so maybe try the mouth

Lawn Mowing, Composting the vege beds, organising the about 20 Cherry Tree seedlings that have appeared since I removed a light hogging tree, Clean the garage. Well that’s her list for me. My list is Cricket watching/listening and Laptop fixing I must replace my screen. Then her list lol…

Please don’t kill the cherry seedlings, trademe or freecycle them. I’d take them all off your hands and plant them in the reserve. But I’m guessing you live somewhere with warm winters (which I’m told leads to terrible crops) or you would have pruned the tree and weighed or tied down the new branches as they start to grow.

My Stella cherry sapling is laden with fruit in its first year. I’m told I should cut them off, along with my sapling pears and apples (all grafted stock). Does anyone know if this is this really important to do because I haven’t been able to bring myself to do it yet?

We have only been in the house about 6 months, and the Cherry, Fejoa and Lemon trees were a bonus. The seedlings came to light after we cleared out a tree that was blocking a lot of light from the back yard, and about a week later all these little seedlings appeared, and yes, I checked them against their big brothers and they are the same. The 2 cherry trees are about oh 20 feet tall and full of cherries, and it is going to be a mission to harvest them all. And keep the bloody birds away. As to the seedlings I live in Levin so yes it’s quite mild and we keep the ground covered in grass clippings and mulch to keep the heat in. And I will think on what to do with them later.

You could make allowance for the birds and still have cherries by letting them have the top ones while you harvest further down. And let the cat out nearby and the birds will feel less happy about coming down low.

My ladder don’t go that high safely, so they are welcome to them. The cats don.t like our dog.

And I still have to pick and use / get rid of truck loads of cherries. Even with out paying the ‘cherry tax’ to the birds.

Just guessing here. so these parents, always working, do not train their kids, smother them, stop them from testing their limits, but play and watch of violent video games and prank shows on cable, finally the kids turn 18.

Just for a prank, they hold another 18 year party goer down, pour petrol over him and set light to him. They were drunk, and thought he’d roll the flames out.

Sorry, but this is why you let you kid start the camp fire and burn themselves, supervised failure.

When are parents going to return to teach themselves that they need to show their kids that training themselves happens every single waking moment, if all they do is watch porn they will become a pervert, if all they do is watch violence they will end up convicted of violence, if all they do is race cars down the road, they will end up running over their own kids in the driveway.

We teach and train ourselves, if they swear all the time, they will have a degraded view of other people that makes it easier to justify theft and harm to others.

Oh, but its worse, if we take away the dole from kiwis born to kiwis in Australia…
…if we don’t tax capital gains (and others do) we create an incentive to target
capital gains – aka housing. Where does this all come from? From poor parenting.
Poor role models. Generations of poor parlimentarians and leaders of the farmers
union, from the ACT party, all their notions of hands free economies, also hands
free parenting. We don’t need no frigging regulation, is uber teenage rebellion as
    a political mantra.

When will National grow up and stop behaving like spoilt brats.
