The Combined Trade Unions (CTU) released a tribute to Peter Conway today
The staff at the NZCTU, those in its affiliated unions and their members lost more than a dear dear friend this week. They lost someone who genuinely wanted them to succeed. Someone who used his skills and intellect to fight in their corner. Someone who could go anywhere and do a good job on behalf of them. Someone who they were immensely proud of and someone who they will always miss.
Labour Party Leader, Andrew Little, paid tribute here
No suggestion of a statue for him….
Where as Legget wants to build that rugby player a big Maulsoeum.
Ta for link – CTU link needs a “u” at the front.
Fixed, thanks. And thanks so much to Tracey for putting this up.
A very sad event – and a huge loss to the Labour movement.
Damn. He was a hell of a good guy and had a brain and compassion that you just had to respect.
Before they moved to Wellington, I did some volunteer work with him in Mt Albert.
