A week or so ago someone sent me this link [removed] to historical American political logos. It’s an interesting examination of trends and themes.

It reminded me of something that did the rounds a few months ago: this humourous slideshow commentary from the New York Times, examining the ‘hidden messages’ in this year’s candidate logos.
This piece reckons the NYT got it wrong on Obama’s logo though, dubbing his, in all its variations, “the hardest working logo”.

‘All the way with Humphrey’?
That doesn’t rhyme.
Now, ‘all the way with LBJ’, that rhymes.
Based on this, we can conclude that if your slogan rhymes, you win the election 100% of the time, if it doesn’t, you lose 100% of the time.
