Nanaia Mahuta’s carefully crafted responses to the Palestinian crisis underlines that the Israeli response to the Hamas attacks by targeting civilians is disproportionate and completely unjustified.

I’m going to show you what a large scale effective political act in a second hand store looked like recently.
Special vote counts may see Labour win back some important electorate seats and see the National/Act majority vanish.
In parliamentary politics, there are no final victories. After losing the 2023 election, Labour must now immediately focus on winning in 2026.

As it stands right now with the indecisive election result, we’re probably into having a caretaker government for some time. The election results after the special votes are targeted to be declared on November 3rd. The last day for the writ is on November 9th.It may then take some time to form a governing number of seats in parliament.

The rules about election day are pretty clear. You may only keep existing election material up on a website or social media if all the following apply. This time we will start moderating all comments with rules at midnight. OpenMike will be the only open post. Normal service back at 7pm

Craig Rennie of the CTU has continued his excellent work analysing National’s proposed tax cuts and has come up with a doozie. Landlords who own multiple properties will get huge tax cuts if National’s policy is put in place.
A new poll has Labour surging into the 30s, Act continuing its decline and National going backward. This election is not over.
